Aberdeen Drug Alert

NHS Grampian has issued an alert after the deaths of two people in their early 20s in Aberdeen.

Both were at the same location in the city and the cause is suspected to be drug-related. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death and exact substances involved, with stimulants and alcohol known to be present or recently used.

The alert also follows an increase more widely in drug-related harm in the area, including in relation to the use of stimulants recreationally.

Examples of stimulant drugs include amphetamines, cocaine and ecstasy (MDMA).
