NESCol will handle information shared through Report + Support carefully and in accordance with applicable data protection and safeguarding requirements. This page provides a plain English overview. The full Report + Support Privacy Notice explains the formal data protection position.
Who can access reports?
Access is restricted to authorised staff who need the information for safeguarding, support, case management, system administration or another lawful purpose. Staff safeguarding concerns are routed to the appropriate People Services safeguarding route.
How may information be used?
- To review and respond to the concern.
- To consider safety, safeguarding and support needs.
- To contact you where you have provided contact details.
- To communicate through anonymous messaging where you have opted in.
- To arrange or signpost support.
- To consider appropriate preventative, protective, complaint, conduct or disciplinary action.
- To understand themes and improve College services, learning, prevention and awareness activity.
- To meet legal, regulatory and safeguarding responsibilities.
When might information be shared?
Information will be shared only where there is an appropriate basis and will be limited to what is necessary and proportionate. This may include sharing information with relevant NESCol staff or an external agency where this is needed to protect someone, respond to a serious concern or meet a legal obligation.
Anonymous reports
NESCol does not ask for your name or contact details on the anonymous route. However, the content of a report or message may identify you or another person. NESCol cannot therefore promise that every report will remain anonymous in all circumstances.
Use of data for reporting and improvement
NESCol may use aggregated or appropriately anonymised information to understand reporting patterns and improve safeguarding, support, equality and prevention work. Information should not be described as anonymous if people remain reasonably identifiable from the data or the surrounding context.
